ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said that 1,685 aliens have voluntarily returned Pakistani Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) because of a strong national security drive.
While chairing a meeting, Nisar said that there should be no laxity in the on-going national security re-verification drive on part of any NADRA official.
The minister said that zero tolerance policy should be maintained until the re-verification drive – a national security matter – ended. It was also conveyed by NADRA that it had verified around 67.9 million CNICs and over 48,000 aliens were identified.
